SummerStarz Movies at Transmitter Park

 

There’s no better way to enjoy our beautiful public parks than to catch an outdoor summer movie. It’s a perfect excuse to grab your family and friends, pack a picnic basket and spread a community blanket.  And lucky us!  We have a full schedule of summer movies to choose from right here in our neighborhood from SummerStarz movies in Transmitter Park, SummerScreen movies in McCarren Park, NYC Parks movies in Cooper Park and McGolrick Park, and cozy screenings in 61 Franklin Community Garden and Java Street Community Garden.

Some movies feature unbeatable views of the Brooklyn waterfront and Manhattan skyline.  All are gorgeous with lovely trees and gardens within walking distance.  There’s something for everyone from family films and action thrillers to romances and eco-documentaries. Best of all, they are all free!  Here’s a current list.  Do check our events calendar frequently for more updates (in fact, we just learned of a couple new ones today).

Susan is a founding member and current Executive Director of Town Square. She developed and managed Town Square’s many community programs to date, including the Go Green BK Hub, Go Green BK Festival, Greencycle Swaps, Schoolfest, SummerStarz free outdoor movies, Greenpoint Children's Halloween Parade & Party, Santa Brunch, and Spring Egg Hunt. Susan worked at many leading Wall Street institutions, and holds an MBA from the Wharton School. Susan lives in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with her family, who inspires her every day.
