Monthly North Brooklyn Train Alerts, as of March 4, 2019

These alerts are updated from the MTA Website as of March 4, 2018. This information is subject to change.


The L’Apocalypse previously due to start on April 27, 2019 has officially been cancelled, and service will instead be slowed for the duration of the repairs. After a disappointing month of February, with every weekend lacking a train, Go Green BK wants to be prepared for the changes that come our way. We have collected all listed scheduled changes for the North Brooklyn Trains in March. Don’t you wish the MTA would make something like this available to us on their own?

L Train

  • Every weekday until March 15, from 11 AM to 3 PM, L trains will slow down, running every 24 minutes between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn.
  • Every weeknight until March 15, from 10:45 PM to 5 AM, there are no L Trains between Broadway Junction in Brooklyn and 8 Avenue in Manhattan. Trains are replaced by the M14 (Manhattan only) and free shuttle buses.
  • Weekends until March 18, 10:45 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, there are no L Trains between Broadway Junction in Brooklyn and 8 Avenue in Manhattan. Trains are replaced by the M14 (Manhattan only) and free shuttle buses.

G Train

  • Monday March 4 – Monday April 1, at all times, every day, Church Avenue-bound G Trains will skip Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn.
  • Friday March 8 – Monday March 11, 9:45 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, Church Avenue-bound G Trains will skip Bedford-Nostrand Avenues in Brooklyn.
  • Weeknights, March 18-22 and March 25-29, Monday through Friday, 9:45 PM to 5 AM, there are no G Trains between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues in Brooklyn and Court Square in Queens. Trains are replaced by free shuttle buses.
  • Friday March 22 – Monday March 25, 9:45 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, there are no G Trains between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues in Brooklyn and Court Square in Queens.Trains are replaced by free shuttle buses.
  • Friday March 29 – Monday April 1, 9:45 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, there are no G Trains between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues in Brooklyn and Court Square in Queens. Trains are replaced by free shuttle buses.

J Train

  • Weekends, March 9 – 24, 3:45 AM Saturday to 10 PM Sunday, there are no J Trains between Crescent Street in Brooklyn and Jamaica Center in Queens. Trains are replaced by E Trains and free shuttle buses.
  • Weekdays, Monday March 18 – Friday March 22, 9:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Jamaica Center-bound J Trains skip Hewes Street, Lorimer Street, and Flushing Avenues in Brooklyn.
  • Monday March 18 – Friday March 22, beginning at 9:45 AM, Broad Street-bound J Trains stop at Flushing Avenue, Lorimer Street, and Hewes Street in Brooklyn.

M Train

  • Weekends until March 18, 10 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, M Train service is extended to the 96 Street Q Station in Manhattan.
  • Every Friday night until March 15, M Train service ends at 10 PM between 71 Avenue in Queens and 47-50 Streets in Manhattan.
  • Every Monday through Thursday night until March 14 (except March 11), 8:15 PM to 11:30 PM, there will be no M Train between 71 Avenue in Queens and Essex Street in Manhattan. E, F, and R Trains provide alternate service.
  • Weekdays, Monday March 18 to Friday March 22, 9:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Middle Village-bound M Trains skip Hewes Street, Lorimer Street, and Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn.
  • March 23 – 24, 3:45 PM Saturday to 10 PM Sunday, there are no M Trains between Metropolitan Avenue in Queens and Essex Street in Manhattan. Trains are replaced by J Trains and free shuttle buses.
  • March 29 – April 1, 9:45 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, there are no M Trains between Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn and Essex Street in Manhattan. Trains are replaced by the J Train and free shuttle buses.

If you want to speak to L-Train representatives directly about the upcoming service changes, there are four open houses, listed on GoGreen BK’s calendar, that you can attend. The first one is Thursday, March 7, and there is another one on Wednesday, March 13.
