Movement for Gardeners | GreenThumb GrowTogether

Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 at 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Rain date: Sunday, April 24, same time. Tickets will be available until two days before the event. This will allow us time to prepare for the attendees who have registered in advance. Walk-ins and people on the wait list are welcome to attend and observe, but supplies aren’t guaranteed.

Join us as we stretch our limbs and warm up into spring! Looking forward to a fruitful 2022, we would like to share some tips, tricks and tools for taking care of your body throughout the season. Topics addressed will include warming up for gardening, addressing common concerns and injuries, and exploring how to move with comfort and creativity throughout the garden space. This workshop welcomes all gardeners and movers, no prior dance experience required.

Facilitated by Zachary Tan Strein, The Wyckoff House Museum, and Nola Sporn Smith, dancer. Zachary (he/him) is the Farm Manager at The Wyckoff House Museum in East Flatbush. He loves cooking and reading. One of his earliest memories is of picking tomatoes with his family at the garden on Roosevelt Island. Nola (she/her) is a dancer and performance artist from Brooklyn, NY. Nola was nominated for a 2019 “Bessie” Outstanding Performer Award for her work with Stacy Grossfield.

Please visit the GreenThumb GrowTogether Conference Guide for a full list of workshop descriptions, facilitators, and other details. The guide is also available as a map.
