Thankfully, there are not too many surprises coming our way in July. The MTA is releasing a weekly report on dust monitoring, as citizen concerns regarding silica dust inhalation were taken very seriously, and have been very good about releasing updates for L-Train alternative services.
The information listed below in this article is current as of July 1, 2019. Check the MTA’s service updates for any changes.
G Train
- Monday July 1 to Wednesday July 3, 9:45 PM to 5 AM, Queensbound F & G Trains skip Fort Hamilton Parkway, 15th Street-Prospect Park, & 4th Avenue-9th Street in Brooklyn
- Through Summer 2020, additional 7 service runs in the evening, including 5 additional 7 Trains between 8:30 PM and midnight on weeknights. The 7 Train connects with the G at Court Square.
- Through Summer 2020, additional G service runs evenings, connecting with the L Train at Metropolitan Avenue (Lorimer St) and A/C at Hoyt-Schermerhorn.
- Weeknights through Summer 2020, 5 additional G Trains will run between 8:30 PM and 1:30 AM.
- Weekends through Summer 2020, during the day, G Trains will run every 8 minutes rather than every 10 minutes.
L Train
- Through Summer 2020, Weeknights, 8 PM to 10 PM, L Train Service will begin slowing down.
- Brooklyn-Bound Trains: Beginning at 8, trains will arrive approximately every five minutes. Between 9:00 and 9:30, trains will arrive approximately every 12 minutes. By 9:30, trains will transition to 20 minute-intervals.
- Manhattan-Bound Trains: Beginning at 8, trains will depart Rockaway Parkway every 6-10 minutes, and Broadway Junction, Lorimer, and Bedford every 5 minutes. Beginning at 8:30, train service will ramp down to 20-minute intervals starting at Rockaway Parkway and moving down the line towards Manhattan.
- Through Summer 2020, Weeknights, 10 PM to 5 AM L Trains run every 20 minutes between Rockaway Parkway, Brooklyn and 8th Avenue, Manhattan. Trains will run every 10 minutes within Brooklyn from 10 PM to 1:30 AM.
- Through Summer 2020, Weeknights from 10 PM to 5 AM, 1 Ave and 3 Ave in Manhattan – board/exit all trains at the Brooklyn-bound platform
- Weekends, 10 PM Friday to 5 AM Sunday, L Trains run every 20 minutes between Rockaway Parkway, Brooklyn and 8th Avenue, Manhattan. Trains will run every 10 minutes within Brooklyn from 10 PM to 1:30 AM.
- Weekdays July 8- August 2, from 10 AM to 11 AM, L Trains run approximately every 8 minutes between 8th Avenue, Manhattan, and Rockaway Parkway, Brooklyn.
- Weekdays July 8- August 2, from 11 AM to 3 PM, L Trains run in two sections on a modified schedule:
- Every 8 minutes between 8th Avenue, Manhattan, and Broadway Junction, Brooklyn
- Every 24 minutes between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway.
- Monday, July 15, starting at 8 PM and lasting until 1:30 AM on Tuesday, July 16, L Trains will run less frequently beginning at 8 PM. After 10 PM, L Trains run approximately every 10 minutes between 8th Avenue, Manhattan, and Rockaway Parkway, Brooklyn.8th Avenue-bound trains at Bedford Avenue, 1 Avenue and 3 Avenue will board from the normal 8 Avenue-bound platform.
J Train
- Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12, 9:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Jamaica Center-bound trains skip Kosciuszko Street, Gates Avenue, Halsey Street and Chauncey Street in Brooklyn
- Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12, starting at 10 AM, Broad St-bound J trains stop at Flushing Avenue, Lorimer Street and Hewes Street in Brooklyn
- Weekdays July 15 – August 2, 10 AM to 3:30 PM, J Trains stop in both directions at Hewes Street, Lorimer Street and Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn
M Train
- Through Summer 2020, additional M trains will run between Brooklyn and Manhattan connecting L stations at 6 Avenue (14 Street), Manhattan and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues, Brooklyn.
- Monday through Saturday nights, 10 PM to 1:30 AM, M Train service is extended to the 96th Street Q Station in Manhattan.
- Through Summer 2020, 6 AM Saturday to 1:30 AM Sunday, 6 AM Sunday to 1:30 AM Monday, M service is extended to the 96th Street Q Station in Manhattan.
- Weeknights, Monday through Friday, M Service ends early between 71 Avenue in Queens and 47-50 Streets in Manhattan.
