Mr. Cobb will tell the stories of various women and events that shed light on how Greenpoint women have lived for over three hundred years. \n*** \nGreenpoint historian Geoffrey Cobb is an author of three books on local history Greenpoint’s Forgotten Past\, Discovering Greenpoint on Foot\, and The King of Greenpoint. The author will sign copies of his books at WORD after the tour. Tickets are $25 (plus tax) for the tour\, plus a copy of Greenpoint Brooklyn’s Forgotten Past\, or $15 for just the tour.

DESCRIPTION:Sustainable\, zero-waste\, zero-spending book exchange and community art project! Bring your kids to trade their “old” books with other kids for some “new” books! After swapping\, participants are invited to leave their creative\, earth-loving mark with a special bench-painting community art project. \nBook Swap Guidelines\n– This swap is for books for K – 12th Grade readers.\n– Please bring books that are in good\, readable condition. Books with missing covers or missing pages will not be accepted.\n– 15 book limit per participant. \nHow to Participate\n1. Drop off your pre-owned books with the front desk staff at WORD Bookstore starting Monday\, September 9th.\n2. For every book you bring in\, you will receive one bottle cap.\n3. Each bottle cap can be exchanged for one book at the swap. \nThe Bench Glow Up\nAfter the swap we invite all participants to help beautify the bench out in front of WORD by sketching favorite book characters or writing beloved book quotes.\nWe’ll provide sketch pencils and colorful paint markers.
