DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate the emergence of late-spring fruits alongside building your canning and preservation skills in the garden with us! During this workshop\, we’ll be guided by the works of Edna Lewis and Abby Fisher as we delve into the traditions of preserving stone\, pome\, and berry fruits. We’ll learn about various late-spring fruits relevant to the African diaspora\, different types of fruit preserves\, and get into foundational skills for making your own shelf-stable jam or jelly. As we prepare seasonal fruit preserves together\, we’ll reflect on the legacies of this practice and enjoy a tasting towards the end of the session. \nLocation: Walt L.
