SUMMARY:Free Canoe Rides in Greenpoint with North Brooklyn Community Boathouse (NBCB)!
DESCRIPTION:NBCB’s Public Paddle Series lets us do what we do best – fulfill our mission to enable public access to the waterways of New York City for our local community. Join us on Saturday August 16\, 12pm – 4pm\, for free canoe rides in our 29-foot Langley canoes. Led by trained ACA trip leaders\, participants will paddle down Newtown Creek and out toward the East River. There’s an opportunity to pause to take photos\, and enjoy the views of Manhattan\, Brooklyn\, and Queens. These trips are family friendly\, and run between 20-30 minutes throughout the day. \nNo registration is required\, the event is first come\, first serve. \nLocation: Manhattan Avenue Park\, (next to 1205 Manhattan Ave\, Brooklyn\, 11222) \nWe welcome our neighbors and members of other community organizations. Together\, let’s learn about Greenpoint’s history and its environmental challenges and successes. Get out on the water and see the neighborhood as you never have before! \nIt is recommended to check the NBCB website and social media accounts in the morning in case of an inclement weather cancellation.

No experience needed! \nViaje en kayaks gratis en Newtown Creek. ¡No se necesita experiencia! \nRegistration is required for this Public Paddle. \nFREE tickets will be available on Eventbrite Aug 1st.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nPublic Paddles are the heart of North Brooklyn Community Boathouse\, a chance to show the community that the waters belong to all of us and to help our friends and neighbors find the same joy in paddling that we all know. \nNBCB is offering FREE kayaking trips on Newtown Creek at MASE Park (1205 Manhattan Ave\, Brooklyn\, NY 11222). You do not need to be a member. \nTrips are 30 minutes long and will use sit-on-top kayaks which seat 1 or 2 people. There is a minimum height requirement of 4’10” in order to ensure the kayak will remain balanced. \nPlease keep in mind\, you will get wet!  \nThe event runs from 1pm-4pm \nRegistration is required for this Public Paddle. Free tickets will be available on Aug 1st. \nSee our Eventbrite page HERE.
