SUMMARY:Volunteer Garden Beautification And Open House
DESCRIPTION:Join Jes Good Rewards Children’s Garden and NYC Parks GreenThumb for an Open House and hands-on volunteer day cleaning up the garden! \nSimply relax in the garden or get hands-on with gardening tasks like collecting debris\, removing weeds\, and reorganizing garden furniture. This is a great opportunity for new and experienced gardeners looking to get involved in community gardening. \nWe’ll provide all the tools\, training\, and guidance to ensure a productive and safe volunteer day! Please wear sturdy work shoes and weather-appropriate clothing and bring water and snacks. Note some tasks will involve lifting heavy materials and extended periods of bending\, squatting\, and moving. \nIn the event of inclement weather\, we’ll reschedule this event to Sunday\, September 13th. \nFor information about group volunteering\, please contact the GreenThumb Volunteer Program at gt.volunteer@parks.nyc.gov. \nThis event is co-hosted by NYC Parks GreenThumb. We are proud to be the nation’s largest urban community gardening program\, sustaining over 550 gardens throughout New York City. GreenThumb community gardens are organized\, led\, and cared for by dedicated volunteer gardeners who critically upkeep them as public green spaces. With GreenThumb’s support\, community gardens are centers of environmental justice\, ensuring that our city is fairer\, safer\, and greener for all. GreenThumb’s events are free and open to the public.
