SUMMARY:14th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep -  Erie Basin Park Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Join Brooklyn Solid Waste Advisory Group for a clean up at Erie Basin Park from 9:30 AM to 12 PM for the 14th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep. This is a rain or shine event. \nVolunteers will meet outside of the IKEA Entrance at 1 Beard St\, Brooklyn\, NY 11231. Parking is available in the IKEA parking lot. \nEach year on the first Saturday in May\, more than 2\,500 volunteers come together across hundreds of miles of shoreline in New York City and the Hudson Valley for a day of service for the Hudson River. Volunteers clean up tons of trash\, plant trees\, and remove invasive plant species. Come out and clean your local shoreline during this annual day of service for the Hudson! Read more about the project and our locations across the Hudson Valley and NYC by visiting Riverkeeper.org/sweep \nOver 13 years\, Sweep volunteers have completed 1\,199 projects and removed 355 tons of debris\, including 2\,089 tires\, and planted or maintained thousands of trees and shrubs. Once-neglected areas have gained year-round stewards\, and rivers and creeks are better for it. Volunteers must register in advance. Have fun and help take care of the river!
