DESCRIPTION:Join for Nature Storytime at Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s Environmental Education Center (99 Plymouth Street)! Held at 3:00pm on the third Thursday of every month (during Open Hours). Librarians from Brooklyn Public Library Adams Street location lead for an exciting and engaging storytime session\, along with singing and rhymes. Each month they select a book to pair with the Education Center’s monthly nature theme. After\, stay to check out all the animals and activities in the room – open hours on Thursdays are currently 3:00-5:00pm! Storytime is typically about a half hour long. Walk-ups only; we do our utmost to accommodate as many walk-ups as space allows. The Environmental Education Center is still encouraging all visitors to wear a mask to help protect others.

This class features aerobic training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Sneakers are recommended! Classes run on Mondays at 6:00 PM\, May 1 through September 25 at the Pier 3 Plaza. \n\n\n\nAdvanced registration is required. We are now opening registration by-the-month (opens at the start of the month for all classes that month) here. \nImportant: In addition to registration\, all fitness participants are required to fill out our fitness waiver here. Once completed\, your waiver is good for all Conservancy fitness classes of the 2023 season – you only need to fill it out once! All levels are welcome including first-time kayakers – life vests and all equipment provided\, as well as instruction. Children under 18 must have an adult guardian present. \n  \nWednesdays\, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM \nThursdays\, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM \nSaturdays\, 10:00 AM-3:00 PM \nSundays\, 12:00 PM-2:30 PM (family kayaking) \n  \nAdvanced registration required\, providing 20 minute timed slots. Free registration opens 2 weeks ahead of each date through the Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse website. Check back daily for more openings. \nHave your own boat? The goal of this class is to grow your confidence\, improve your connection with your body\, and push past your perceived limits. The class is a combination of core and flexibility exercises designed to build a strong foundation of movement capacity. Classes run on Sundays\, May 7-September 24\, 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at the Pier 6 Lawn. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring their own mats; an extremely limited number will be available to borrow from Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy staff. \nAdvanced registration is required. We are now opening registration by-the-month (opens at the start of the month for all classes that month) here. \nImportant: In addition to registration\, all fitness participants are required to fill out our fitness waiver here. Once completed\, your waiver is good for all Conservancy fitness classes of the 2023 season – you only need to fill it out once! Those under 18 years of age must have a parent/guardian complete the form on their behalf. \nConfirmation emails include a link to this waiver. It must be completed before you can participate in any of our fitness programming; individuals who have not completed a waiver will not be permitted to join. New Style Hustle\, founded by Jeff Selby in 2010\, is based on the original partner dance of the 1970’s\, The Hustle. Originally developed in the Bronx by the young Puerto Rican community\, The Hustle has its roots in Mambo and Salsa. It takes hustle and allows freedom and variation of footwork with rhythmic changes that connect to today’s music. New Style Hustle calls for personalization and brings with it all kinds of street styles. Though it is usually done to house music\, it now reaches a variety of genres like R&B\, disco\, hip hop and more! \n  \nRSVP HERE  \n  \nEach night starts off with a 45-minute all-levels introductory class\, which will transition into a dance party. How do borders shift and change us and the Land we live in?  \nExplore these questions prompted by Nicholas Galanin’s In every language there is Land / En cada  lengua hay una Tierra in a series of hands-on screenprinting sessions led by the Queens-based collective Mobile Print Power (MPP). Using their participatory design methodology and portable silkscreen  printmaking carts\, MPP will engage with communities in Corona Plaza\, Queens\, to co-create new graphic  works based on participants’ experiences of borders across social\, cultural\, and political spaces. \nOn August 5 and 19 at Corona Plaza\, MPP will invite participants to learn screenprinting and unpack the  concept of borders through drawings and words. MPP will then integrate these responses into original  screenprint designs\, which will be used in the final workshop on September 2 in Brooklyn Bridge Park\,  where a wider audience will engage with participant-created designs from the initial two workshops. \nNo registration is needed. DESCRIPTION:Dodge YMCA fitness Zumba classes are so much fun you’ll forget that you’re burning calories. ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music\, utilizing dance themes that create a dynamic\, exciting\, effective fitness program. This class features aerobic training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Sneakers are recommended! Classes run on Mondays at 6:00 PM\, May 1 through September 25 at the Pier 3 Plaza. \n\n\n\nAdvanced registration is required. We are now opening registration by-the-month (opens at the start of the month for all classes that month) here. \nImportant: In addition to registration\, all fitness participants are required to fill out our fitness waiver here. Once completed\, your waiver is good for all Conservancy fitness classes of the 2023 season – you only need to fill it out once! Those under 18 years of age must have a parent/guardian complete the form on their behalf. \nConfirmation emails include a link to this waiver. It must be completed before you can participate in any of our fitness programming; individuals who have not completed a waiver will not be permitted to join. DESCRIPTION:Glide along the water this summer and fall!\nPresented in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse\, free kayaking is offered throughout the summer on Wednesday and Thursday evenings\, and Saturday afternoons through September. All levels are welcome including first-time kayakers – life vests and all equipment provided\, as well as instruction. Children under 18 must have an adult guardian present. \n  \nWednesdays\, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM \nThursdays\, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM \nSaturdays\, 10:00 AM-3:00 PM \nSundays\, 12:00 PM-2:30 PM (family kayaking) \n  \nAdvanced registration required\, providing 20 minute timed slots. Free registration opens 2 weeks ahead of each date through the Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse website. Check back daily for more openings. \nHave your own boat? Launch your human-powered boats from the Pier 4 Beach.
