DESCRIPTION:Start your day with a free relaxing and strengthening yoga session in Brooklyn Bridge Park! This all-level one hour fitness class is open to all ages and abilities\, led by instructors from Abhaya Yoga. This is a part of Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Waterfront Workouts series\, offering free weekly workouts from May through September. This yoga class integrates postures\, breathing exercises\, relaxation and meditation to stretch\, strengthen and condition. No equipment is required but participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats or towels\, if desired\, to use on the lawn. Advance registration is highly encouraged but walk-ups welcome as capacity allows. Fitness waivers are required by all participants. DESCRIPTION:Do you like to sketchbook? Are you interested in starting? Join Brooklyn Bridge Park educators and other like-minded people in a sketchbooking meet-up. Each time\, we will meet at a different location in the park to concentrate on different subjects and stretch our skills. Come to one event or come to all. It’s up to you. These are informal sessions with some instruction for those who are new to the practice as well as an open exchange of ideas\, techniques\, and materials. \nThis month we will be exploring the John Street section of the park and concentrating on architecture (the NYC skyline\, the Manhattan Bridge\, etc). Meeting point will be at the Manhattan Bridge viewing area\, near the salt marsh. \nRegistration required. We encourage you to bring your own\, favorite sketching materials\, but we will provide some for those who don’t have. This program is intended for adults\, although older teens are welcome as well. Advanced registration is encouraged but not required. There will be 25 spots available on a first-come-first-served basis.

DESCRIPTION:For nearly 50 years\, Bargemusic has been committed to attracting local audiences and enhancing the cultural life of New York by offering performances of chamber music in an intimate setting – the type of setting in which chamber music is meant to be heard.\n\nBargemusic concerts are 1 to 1.5 hours\, with no intermission. Doors open 20 minutes before the concert (no tickets\, no reservations). No food or drink is permitted inside the Boathouse\, and no photo\, video\, or audio recording is allowed without permission. DESCRIPTION:Coastal Cleanup volunteers help remove debris washed up into the Park. They also record what’s collected\, contributing to efforts worldwide to better understand and tackle plastic pollution. \nNote: Coastal Cleanups involve uneven surfaces\, rock scrambling\, bending\, and light lifting. \nAdvance registration is required and spaces are limited.  \nTo register: \n\nNew volunteers\, please create a Volunteer Profile to sign up for opportunities  \n\n\nRegistered volunteers\, please log-in to your volunteer profile to schedule yourself \n\nIf you’re signing up as a family\, please email volunteer@bbp.nyc  \nFull details\, including location of the activity\, will be emailed to registered volunteers a few days prior to the event.  \nNote: If you’re not seeing any dates available when trying to sign up for a Coastal Cleanup opportunity\, it’s because either all the spots have been filled\, or the event has not yet opened for sign-ups. DESCRIPTION:Volunteer Orientations are a great way to learn about available opportunities at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
