SUMMARY:Energy Futures
DESCRIPTION:Energy Futures: Our Fight for a Renewable\, Affordable New York — Short Films & Community Action Night in Greenpoint\nJoin Sane Energy Project and Assembly Member Emily Gallagher’s Office for an evening of powerful storytelling and collective action at Energy Futures: Our Fight for a Just\, Livable New York\, a short film premiere and community info session in the heart of Greenpoint. \nWe’re connecting the dots between rising utility bills\, toxic gas infrastructure\, and the fight for a healthy\, affordable\, and sustainable future. \nBe the first to see two brand-new\, 3-minute campaign films spotlighting our community’s resistance to the Williams NESE pipeline and the Greenpoint LNG facility\, and how these dangerous projects are directly tied to rising utility rates across New York City and Long Island. These developments don’t just raise our bills; they also bring toxins into our neighborhoods and exacerbate the climate crisis\, both locally and regionally. \nThis is more than a screening; it’s a call to action. Come learn what’s at stake\, how these issues impact Greenpoint and beyond\, and what we can do right now to stop utility greed\, shut down polluting infrastructure\, and build the just energy future we deserve. \nWe CAN build a beautiful future\, together. \nSnacks\, neighbors\, and local climate justice power included. \n\nWe are making this event HYBRID (online and in-person) for accessibility. If you would like to join us online\, please register on ZOOM right HERE
