Each dance is accompanied by live drumming to provide an understanding of the relationship between the dance and musician and the common language they must speak to execute an African Dance style. A towel and a change of clothes is recommended. \nActivity lines are subject to close early\, so come on time! \nTickets\nMost activities do not require tickets; however\, to avoid long wait times for stand-up paddleboarding\, a limited number of passes with assigned time slots will be given out at 11:00 a.m. Passes are free and are available on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nWaivers\nParticipants in some activations\, including rock climbing\, stand-up paddleboarding\, and archery\, must sign a waiver and provide photo identification before participating in these activities. The waivers will be provided at the event for participants to sign. SUMMARY:Seed Farming with NYC Parks
DESCRIPTION:Join the Greenbelt Native Plant Center’s Seed Increase Program (SIP) to help plant new seed plots at our Floyd Bennett Field native seed farm. The SIP grows native seed\, sourced from local plant populations\, for ecological restoration projects across the city. Activities may include spreading seed\, prepping planting beds\, weeding beachgrass\, and cutting back last year’s growth. Tools will be provided. No prior knowledge about native plants or farming is required. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes\, long pants\, and clothing that can get dirty. Space is limited and registration is required.
