Audubon New York has received funding through the Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund to provide adult environmental education programs to the residents of Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
“Thanks to the generous support of the Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund, Audubon New York is excited to provide, for the first time, adult environmental education programs to the Greenpoint Community,” remarked Audubon New York’s New York City For the Birds! Program Director Haley Main, “These new programs are an expansion of the student programs already underway, and we are eager to work with all the residents of Greenpoint as they explore new ways to help sustain their local ecosystem.”
According to the media alert, the program, Composting 101, is set for August 10 and 17th 6:00 – 7:30 PM. Have you wanted to start composting but have no idea how to start? If so, then join Audubon New York and the NYC Compost Project at McGolrick Park in Greenpoint for a Composting 101 workshop! Participants will get hands-on experience on how to produce compost locally by transforming their food scraps into compost gold and learn how composting helps birds and other wildlife of Brooklyn! Workshops are open to adults and families. Meet at the Shelter Pavilion inside McGolrick Park at 6:00 pm. Register by visiting ny.audubon.org/composting101.
