The L’Apocalypse, previously due to start on April 27, 2019, was ditched in favor of a last-minute intervention involving technology that has been successfully implemented in other cities. Well, it’s now April, and construction is due to begin on the same date. Local advocacy organizations, like the L Train Coalition and Trans Alt, are working to prepare us for what happens after that, but until then, Go Green BK wants you to be ready for the regular onslaught of transit changes. We have collected all listed scheduled changes for the North Brooklyn Trains in April.
L Train
- Monday through Friday, April 1 – 5, from 11 AM to 3 PM, L trains will slow down, running every 24 minutes between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn.
- Saturday, April 6 – Sunday, April 7, 5:30 AM Saturday to 8 PM Sunday, there will be no L Trains between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn. Service is replaced by free shuttle buses.
- Weekdays, April 8 – 26 from 11 AM to 3 PM, L trains will slow down, running every 12 minutes between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues and Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn.
- Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14, 7 AM to 7 PM, L train service will slow down, operating every 8 minutes between 8th Avenue in Manhattan and Broadway Junction, and every 24 minutes between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway.
- Weeknights, Monday April 15 to Friday April 19, and Monday April 22 to Friday April 26, 10:15 PM to 5 AM, there are no L Trains between Lorimer Street, Brooklyn, and 8th Avenue, Manhattan. Service is replaced by A, F, J Trains, the M14, and free shuttle buses.
G Train
- Monday through Friday nights, April 1 – 5 and April 8 – 12, from 9:45 PM to 5 AM, there will be no G Train service between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues in Brooklyn and Court Square in Queens. Trains are replaced by free shuttle buses.
- Friday April 5 – Monday April 8, 9:45 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, there are no G Trains between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues in Brooklyn and Court Square in Queens.Trains are replaced by free shuttle buses.
- Every day, beginning at 5 AM April 8 until May 6, Court Square-bound G Trains will skip Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn.
- Friday April 12 – Monday April 15, 9:45 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, there are no G Trains between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues in Brooklyn and Court Square in Queens.Trains are replaced by free shuttle buses.
- Friday April 19 – Monday April 22, 9:45 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, there are no G Trains. Service is replaced by F Trains and free shuttle buses.
- Friday April 26 – Monday April 29, 9:45 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, Church Avenue-bound G Trains skip Bedford Nostrand Avenues, 4 Av-9 St, 15 St-Prospect Park, and Fort Hamilton Pkwy in Brooklyn.
J/Z Train
- Friday April 5 – Monday April 8, 9:45 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, there will be no J service between Hewes Street in Brooklyn and Broad Street in Manhattan. Trains are replaced by free shuttle buses, 4, 6, E, and F trains.
- Weekdays, Monday April 8 to Friday April 12, 9:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Jamaica Center-bound J Trains skip Hewes Street, Lorimer Street, and Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn.
- Monday April 8 to Friday April 12, beginning at 9:45 AM, Broad Street-bound J Trains stop at Flushing Avenue, Lorimer Street, and Hewes Street in Brooklyn.
- Saturday, April 13 to Sunday, April 14, 3:45 AM Saturday to 10 PM Sunday, Crescent Street-bound J Trains will skip Hewes Street, Lorimer Street, and Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn.
M Train
- Monday through Thursday, April 1 – 4 and April 8 – 11, M Train service will end early (8:15 – 9:45 PM estimated end time) between 71 Avenue in Queens and Essex Street in Manhattan.
- Monday through Thursday, April 1 – 4 and April 8 – 11, M Train service will end early (9:45 – 11:30 PM estimated end time) between Brooklyn and Manhattan.
- Friday April 5 – Monday April 8, 9:45 PM Friday to 5 AM Monday, there is no M Train service between Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn and Essex Street in Manhattan. Trains are replaced by free shuttle buses and the J Train.
- Weekdays, Monday April 8 to Friday April 12, 9:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Middle Village-bound M Trains skip Hewes Street, Lorimer Street, and Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn.
- Saturdays and Sundays, April 13, 14, 20, & 21, 3:45 AM Saturday to 10 PM Sunday, M Trains between Metropolitan Avenue in Queens and Essex Street in Manhattan are replaced by J Trains and free shuttle buses.
- Monday through Thursday, April 15 to 18 and April 22 to 25, as well as Friday, April 19, 8:15 PM to 11:30 PM, M train service will end early between 71st Avenue in Queens and Essex Street in Manhattan. E, F, and R Trains will provide alternate service.
