SUMMARY:Taste of the Tropics at Seasons of Vision Garden
DESCRIPTION:Seasons of Vision Garden will be sponsoring an afternoon of fun! The garden will be open to the public and the gardeners will display and demonstrate foods from around the world. Groups of gardeners will prepare their ethnic dishes and visitors will have the opportunity to taste the different dishes. Some of the produce that was planted in the garden will be used in the dishes. Come learn about the garden and how to get involved and meet the garden group and community!

Join us to discuss the splendor of greens and their relevance in Afro-Indigenous diasporas\, as well as prepare a few dishes that highlight their versatility in the kitchen. \nThis session is a continuation of The Soul of Food\, a Deep Routes workshop series honoring the foodways that connect plants\, peoples\, and lands across Afro-Indigenous diasporas. \nThis event is hosted by NYC Parks GreenThumb. We are proud to be the nation’s largest urban community gardening program\, sustaining over 550 gardens throughout New York City. With GreenThumb’s support\, community gardens are centers of environmental justice\, ensuring that our city is fairer\, safer\, and greener for all. GreenThumb’s events are free and open to the public.
