Bringing together community members\, local businesses\, and long-time champions of the Creek\, Tidal Toast is an evening of inspiration and impact. \n\nWe are thrilled to celebrate the 2024 Restore\, Reveal\, and Revitalize Honorees Randy Austin\, Shino Tanikawa\, and Tri-Lox\, for their amazing work as environmental stewards of Newtown Creek and the local community.\n \nRandall W. Austin:\nFor 45 years\, Randy worked for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation\, leading the Oil Spill Response unit for all of New York City. Now retired\, Randy was an invaluable resource in protecting both people and wildlife from the harms of petroleum and chemical pollution\, with extensive results for Newtown Creek and the surrounding communities.  \nShino Tanikawa:\nShino is the executive director of the NYC Soil and Water Conservation District and a leading advocate for environmental protection\, public education\, and social justice. Through her extensive experience in public policy and environmental education and outreach programming across New York City\, Shino continues to empower people to become environmental stewards and active voices for their communities. \nTri-Lox:\nTri-Lox is a Greenpoint-based design\, fabrication\, and manufacturing practice that works with regional wood\, including material from deconstructed New York City water towers and salvaged NYC trees. Tri-Lox exemplifies a successful model for integrating environmental conservation and sustainability into a locally based industrial business.

Join Town Square BK for our popular annual Greenpoint Children’s Halloween Parade and Spooktacular Party! \n12 Noon ~ The FREE Greenpoint Children’s Halloween Parade will step off around 12 PM in McCarren Park (Manhattan Avenue and Driggs Avenue). Costumed kids of all ages will march up Manhattan Avenue to Greenpoint Avenue and back to the park. \n10 AM\, 11 AM\, 1 PM & 2 PM ~ The ticketed Spooktacular Party will be held indoors at Hide & Seek\, located at 593 Manhattan Avenue\, with timed 50-minute sessions at 10 AM\, 11 AM\, 1 PM\, & 2 PM. You’ll pick the entry time of your choice when purchasing your ticket. Arts and crafts\, live music\, movie\, candy! Don’t be surprised when we shoo you out 10 minutes before the next hour to make room for the next set of little party-goers. \nThe Spooktacular Party tickets are $20 online in advance for kids\, $30 day of event if supplies are available. $10 Special Parent tickets (will admit 2).
