SUMMARY:Brooklyn Botanic Garden: Making Brooklyn Bloom 2024
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, March 9\, 2024 \n10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. \n\n\nCome to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for this year’s Brooklyn Bloom conference with the theme: What’s the Buzz?: Plants\, Pollinators\, People! \nThe 42nd annual Making Brooklyn Bloom conference celebrates the Garden’s 2024 focus on the connections between plants and pollinators. Since our lives are inextricably linked with pollinators and plants\, this year’s conference gives us the opportunity to consider our place alongside them in our urban ecosystems. \nThe day’s workshops\, tours\, and keynote address will inspire the care needed to lead us into a more pollinated present. Visitors will have the opportunity to network with NYC greening organizations in the Palm House. The Wilbur A. Levin Keynote Address\, “Roots and Relationships: How Native Plants Connect Us to Our Past and Our Future\,” will be presented by Courtney Streett\, President/Executive Director\, Native Roots Farm Foundation. ASL interpretation is provided for all talks in the Auditorium. \nRegistration opens at 10 a.m. on the day of the event. Arrive early—spots for workshops and the keynote address fill quickly. Garden admission is free for attendees. Attendees are encouraged to enter through 990 Washington Avenue\, however\, please mention Making Brooklyn Bloom at any ticket window for complimentary admission. \nEmail community@bbg.org by February 23\, 2024 to request ASL interpretation. Visit bbg.org/accessibility for more information. \nLocation: Brooklyn Botanic Garden\, 990 Washington Ave\, Brooklyn.
