SUMMARY:Coastal Cleanup (Brooklyn Bridge Park)
DESCRIPTION:Coastal Cleanup Volunteers help keep our shorelines clean by removing debris that washes into the park’s marshes and beaches with the tides. Volunteers also document the types of trash collected—data that is shared with the Ocean Conservancy to support global efforts in understanding and combating plastic pollution. \nVolunteers of all ages are welcome; under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No volunteer orientation or experience is required\, but note that this activity may involve climbing up and down rocks. \nAdvance registration is required and spaces are limited. \nTo register: \n\nNew volunteers\, please complete this form\nRegistered volunteers\, please log-in to your volunteer profile to schedule yourself\n\nIf you’re signing up as a family\, please email volunteer@brooklynbridgepark.org \nFull details\, including location of the activity\, will be emailed to registered volunteers a few days prior to the event. \nNote: If you’re not seeing any dates available when trying to sign up for a Coastal Cleanup opportunity\, it’s because either all the spots have been filled or the event has not yet opened for sign-ups. DESCRIPTION:Come participate in this community stewardship event with us for It’s my Estuary Day! The event will include a shoreline-beach cleanup\, an ROV demo with an underwater oyster reef observation\, a seining demo with fish identification and count as our citizen science activity\, a horseshoe crab monitoring demonstration\, and many more science and education opportunities at our partners’ tables displays.
