DESCRIPTION:The first North Brooklyn Community Boathouse Public Paddle is May 27\, 2022! \nAnd we hope to see you there! \nThe Public Paddles let NBCB do what we do best: fulfill our mission to enable access to the waterways of New York City for our local community. \nWe’ll have canoe tours with views of Manhattan\, tasty beverages and snacks on hand\, and friends and neighbors gathering together on the shores of Newtown Creek. \nThe event runs 12-4. We invite you to join together in one of our 29′ Langley canoes and to spend some time on land\, meeting your neighbors and participating in the Community Reflection Station. \nAs we await the completion of our community boathouse\, this event will take place at Manhattan Avenue Street End Park\, just one block away in Greenpoint\, Brooklyn. \n  \nThe Public Paddle schedule for 2023: \n\nSaturday\, May 27\, 12-4 PM\nSaturday\, June 17\, 12-4 PM: Juneteenth Celebration\nSaturday\, July 15\, 12-4 PM: City of Water Day: New special location!\nSaturday\, August 19\, 12-4 PM\nSaturday\, September 23\, 12-4 PM

SUMMARY:Intermediate Canoeing (Marine Park)
DESCRIPTION:Few experiences compare with being on the open water in New York City. The rhythm of the waves\, the sun on your face\, and the exhilaration of slicing through the water all add up to an experience you’ll never forget. Our trained Urban Park Rangers will lead you on canoe adventures that range from the gentle waters of protected lakes to the challenging open waters of rivers and bays. All canoe programs are for ages 8 years and older. Participants must have prior canoeing experience. Participants are chosen by lottery. Lottery registration opens on Wednesday July 12. \n\n\nLocation: Salt Marsh Nature Center in Marine Park \, East 33rd Street and Avenue U.
