DESCRIPTION:Join Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center\, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation. \n\nNature Around Us\, 12 – 3 pm: Enjoy different seasonal discovery stations and nature themed activities that will introduce you to the plants\, insects and animals that call the park home. The Lake and Lullwater are home to many plants and animals. Help us to test the water quality and investigate pond samples that are filled with living organisms.\nAnimal Encounter\, 2 – 3 pm: Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. This program starts promptly at 2 pm.\nWilderness Walk\, 3 – 4 pm: Join the Prospect Park Alliance and learn about the Great Backyard Bird Count and search for your favorite “backyard bird”. Find woodpeckers\, chickadees\, and nuthatches eating from feeders along Prospect Park’s nature trails.\n\nCarousel Rides\, 12 – 5 pm \nChildren’s Corner\, $3 per ride\, $13 for a book of 5 tickets\, Free with Prospect Park Alliance Family Supporter membership or higher. Celebrate the start of spring with a ride on Prospect Park’s beloved 1912 Carousel. \nJoin the Alliance at the Family Supporter level or above and enjoy unlimited free rides!

Join a naturalist and learn about seeds and the birds who eat them through hands-on crafts and activities. Continue your learning outside the park by potting your own take home plant. \n\nSavvy Seeds 12 – 1 pm: Get hands-on with a few of Prospect Park’s Savvy seeds. Enjoy seasonal discovery stations\, fun-filled education opportunities and more to celebrate our earth. \n2 – 3 pm The Arrival\nJoin Prospect Park Alliance for The Arrival\, a dramatized mythical production about how water came to Earth by Something Positive\, a New York City based performing arts and education organization dedicated to preserving the art and culture of the African Diaspora and its cross-cultural influences.\n\nThis performance blends the creation myths of the Yoruba of Southwestern Nigeria with science and technology for an intriguing\, larger-than-life\, multimedia performance. The performance includes dancing deities\, live vocals and percussion\, with powerful light projections and an atmosphere of awe and excitement.
