DESCRIPTION:Join Prospect Park Alliance for family-friendly programming on Fourth of July at the Prospect Park Audubon Center\, Lefferts Historic House and the Carousel. \nNature Exploration: Lake Appreciation Month\, 12–4 pm\nProspect Park Audubon Center\, Free\nJoin the Prospect Park Alliance for nature education programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center\, the first urban Audubon Center in the nation. Visitors will learn about Prospect Park’s watercourse and observe our underwater invertebrates up close using magnifying glasses. \n\nPond Water Sampling\, 12–3 pm: Did you know that an entire community of living insects\, plants and animals makes the Lullwater their home? Get a closer view with one of our Naturalists.\nAnimal Encounter\, 2–3 pm: Get up close with Prospect Park Audubon’s fascinating water-dwelling creatures like turtles and fish. Learn fun facts about their habitats\, adaptations and roles in the ecosystem.\nNature on the Go!\, 3–4 pm: Enjoy a nature walk along Brooklyn’s only Lake and help lend a hand to your park by removing litter along the way.\n\nReImagine Lefferts Open Hours\, 12–6 pm\nLefferts Historic House\, Free\nVisit the Lefferts Historic House for family friendly outdoor and indoor exhibits\, activities\, workshops\, and special programs that explore the legacies of resistance and resilience of the Indigenous peoples of Lenapehoking\, whose unceded lands the park and house rests upon\, and the Africans enslaved by the Lefferts family. \nCarousel Rides\, 12–5 pm\nChildren’s Corner\, $3 per ride\, $13 for a book of 5 tickets\, Free with Prospect Park Alliance Family Supporter membership or higher.\nCelebrate July 4th with a ride on Prospect Park’s beloved 1912 Carousel.
