Join us for an evening of unrehearsed musical conversation\, where freedom takes form and sound takes shape. \n. \nDates \nThu\, Jul 23\, 6:00 to 9:00 PM ~ Spencer Zahn will lead a quartet of multi-instrumentalists to create two fully improvised sets under the open sky. Spencer Zahn is a bassist\, multi-instrumentalist\, and composer\, long based in New York and now splitting his time with Los Angeles. A renowned collaborator and touring bassist for artists like Empress Of\, Twin Shadow\, Kimbra\, and Half Waif\, Spencer is perhaps best known for his acclaimed work alongside vocalist Dawn Richard and guitarist Dave Harrington of Darkside. His solo albums meld his jazz background with ambient pop\, Americana\, and neo-classical influences. Since 2016\, they’ve developed over 50 innovative projects spanning live performances\, recordings\, residencies\, and deep listening events. Their work extends beyond presenting music to actively cultivating artists\, projects\, and audiences through immersive experiences and meaningful contexts. Operating across unconventional spaces\, established venues\, and international festivals\, Pique-nique builds cultural infrastructure that connects musical traditions with contemporary expression. \n
