DESCRIPTION:Green Team takes place twice a month\, from April-October.   \nGreen Team volunteers support essential horticultural care in Brooklyn Bridge Park\, completing tasks such as weeding\, planting and mulching. This is a great opportunity to learn about gardening\, enjoy nature\, and make a tangible difference in the Park with a group of other volunteers. \nVolunteers of all ages are welcome (under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) and no volunteer orientation is required. No gardening experience is necessary; we provide all the instructions and tools needed for a rewarding experience! \nAdvance registration is required and spaces are limited. Registration opens the month prior. DESCRIPTION:These outings will start at The Audubon Center at the Boathouse. \nLeader: A member of the Brooklyn Bird Club \nWhether you’re just starting out or have already joined the birding ranks\, this introductory bird outing is for you. Join a member of the Brooklyn Bird Club to learn the basics of birding and search for the dozens of species that visit Prospect Park through all seasons. \nAll levels and ages are welcome. No registration necessary. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. \nPlease bring binoculars if you have them. A limited number of binoculars will be available to loan. \nRoute Description: This outing is at a leisurely pace with lots of stops to observe birds. A different route through the park may be taken each week. There may be steps\, slight inclines\, and grass and dirt paths with exposed roots. We will cover approximately 1.5-2 miles.

Visit Prospect Park for family-friendly activities at Prospect Park Audubon Center and Carousel. \nSpring Break at the Prospect Park Audubon Center\nProspect Park Audubon Center\, Free\, 12–4 pm \nThe ingredients needed to produce the next generation of trees are found within nuts\, cones and fruit. Join a naturalist and learn about seeds and the birds who eat them through hands-on crafts and activities. Continue your learning outside the park by potting your own take home plant. \nSavvy Seeds 12–1pm: Get hands-on with a few of Prospect Parks savvy seeds. Learn how different plants produce offspring by persuading pollinators and how they protect and disperse their seeds. \nSow a Seed 1–2pm: Learn about the survival needs of seeds and have the opportunity to plant a seed in your own custom planter made out of recycled paper. \nAnimal Encounter 2–3pm: Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. \nNature on the Go! 3–4pm: An Alliance Naturalist will lead children and families to areas near the Audubon Center\, where you can learn about the nature that is all around us. \nCarousel Rides\, 12–5 pm\nChildren’s Corner\, $3 per ride\, $13 for a book of 5 tickets\, Free with Prospect Park Alliance Family Supporter membership or higher. \nCelebrate the start of spring with a ride on Prospect Park’s beloved 1912 Carousel.

Visit Prospect Park for family-friendly activities at Prospect Park Audubon Center and Carousel. \nSpring Break at the Prospect Park Audubon Center\nProspect Park Audubon Center\, Free\, 12–4 pm \nThe ingredients needed to produce the next generation of trees are found within nuts\, cones and fruit. Join a naturalist and learn about seeds and the birds who eat them through hands-on crafts and activities. Continue your learning outside the park by potting your own take home plant. \nSavvy Seeds 12–1pm: Get hands-on with a few of Prospect Parks savvy seeds. Learn how different plants produce offspring by persuading pollinators and how they protect and disperse their seeds. \nSow a Seed 1–2pm: Learn about the survival needs of seeds and have the opportunity to plant a seed in your own custom planter made out of recycled paper. \nAnimal Encounter 2–3pm: Join Alliance Naturalists in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. \nNature on the Go! 3–4pm: An Alliance Naturalist will lead children and families to areas near the Audubon Center\, where you can learn about the nature that is all around us. \nCarousel Rides\, 12–5 pm\nChildren’s Corner\, $3 per ride\, $13 for a book of 5 tickets\, Free with Prospect Park Alliance Family Supporter membership or higher. \nCelebrate the start of spring with a ride on Prospect Park’s beloved 1912 Carousel.

DESCRIPTION:Ages 5-8 \nJoin the Urban Park Rangers to reveal nature in the city all around you. \nTuesdays April 1\, 8\, 15\, 29 \nAccessibility \n\nWe are a 5-minute walk off the Nassau G stop. Our building entry\, elevator\, and bathroom are all ADA compliant.\nFor this workshop we will be in Eco Lab 1\, this room is brightly lit from a variety of fixtures and natural lighting.  Temperature varies.\nBeing a public space there is often overlapping noise within the building.  This workshop is geared towards kids which might include varying levels of sound depending on excitement or interest of group.  To reduce sensory input feel free to bring your own ear plugs or ask us if you’d like to borrow a sound filtering device.\nGrown-ups are encouraged to stay in the space to provide additional support to their child.  This may include help with motor skills or emotional support.
