SUMMARY:Ecopoetics Creative Writing Workshop (Clinton Hill Library)
DESCRIPTION:At a time when we have begun to feel the effects of climate change\, contemporary poets and writers have brought to the forefront the adverse effects of modernization on the planet. SUMMARY:Ecopoetics Creative Writing Workshop (Clinton Hill Library)
DESCRIPTION:At a time when we have begun to feel the effects of climate change\, contemporary poets and writers have brought to the forefront the adverse effects of modernization on the planet. This multipart generative workshop helps participants to reimagine their roles in the current climate crisis via their own creative writing. \nMeeting over four Thursdays (March 12th\, 19th\, 26th & April 2nd)\, this workshop builds toward participants writing their own ecopoems and expanding their understanding of climate writing. Each session combines technique\, dissecting craft approaches behind the work of other poets and writers\, writing time\, and the time to share work. \nThis is an all-levels workshop for anyone seeking to write and share their work in a welcoming and supportive environment. \nAbout the instructor: Gauri Awasthi\, born and raised in Kanpur\, India\, has received fellowships from Yaddo\, Hambidge Center\, Hedgebrook\, Djerassi\, and Sundress Academy For The Arts. She is an editor at The Offing and Elle Magazine\, teaches creative writing to young adults\, and makes films. Her poetry collection\, Mother Wound (Trio House Press\, 2026)\, will be out in October. \n4 Thursdays\n\nThu\, Mar 12\, 6:00pm to 7:30pm ~ Session 1\n\nThu\, Mar 19\, 6:00pm to 7:30pm ~ Session 2\n\n\nThu\, Mar 26\, 6:00pm to 7:30pm ~ Session 3\n\n\nThu\, Apr 2\, 6:00pm to 7:30pm ~ Session 4
