The rhythm of the waves\, the sun on your face\, and the exhilaration of slicing through the water all add up to an experience you’ll never forget. Our trained Urban Park Rangers will lead you on canoe adventures that range from the gentle waters of protected lakes to the challenging open waters of rivers and bays. DESCRIPTION:The Conservancy’s 11th annual Hindu Lamp Ceremony returns to Brooklyn Bridge Park. \nDance artist and educator Aeilushi Mistry will bring peace and harmony to the community as she performs the traditional Hindu Aarti ceremony at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pebble Beach. The Aarti ceremony is traditionally performed each morning and evening along India’s rivers\, in order to convey gratitude to mother river\, reflect on community\, and remember loved ones. Please join us as we decorate palm leaf lamps and release them along the East River to make prayers and pay our respects to loved ones. Guest artists will also present their work at this event. \nThis event is free and open to the public\, walk-up only.

SUMMARY:Core and Flexibility Training with Dodge YMCA
DESCRIPTION:Join for our new Core and Flexibility Training class with Dodge YMCA to improve strength\, tone\, and flexibility. The goal of this class is to grow your confidence\, improve your connection with your body\, and push past your perceived limits. The class is a combination of core and flexibility exercises designed to build a strong foundation of movement capacity. Classes run on Sundays\, May 7-September 24\, 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at the Pier 6 Lawn. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring their own mats; an extremely limited number will be available to borrow from Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy staff. \nAdvanced registration is required. We are now opening registration by-the-month (opens at the start of the month for all classes that month) here. \nImportant: In addition to registration\, all fitness participants are required to fill out our fitness waiver here. Once completed\, your waiver is good for all Conservancy fitness classes of the 2023 season – you only need to fill it out once! Those under 18 years of age must have a parent/guardian complete the form on their behalf. \nConfirmation emails include a link to this waiver. It must be completed before you can participate in any of our fitness programming; individuals who have not completed a waiver will not be permitted to join. SUMMARY:Nature Storytime at Brooklyn Bridge Park
DESCRIPTION:Join for Nature Storytime at Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s Environmental Education Center (99 Plymouth Street)! Held at 3:00pm on the third Thursday of every month (during Open Hours). Librarians from Brooklyn Public Library Adams Street location lead for an exciting and engaging storytime session\, along with singing and rhymes. Each month they select a book to pair with the Education Center’s monthly nature theme. After\, stay to check out all the animals and activities in the room – open hours on Thursdays are currently 3:00-5:00pm! Storytime is typically about a half hour long. Walk-ups only; we do our utmost to accommodate as many walk-ups as space allows. The Environmental Education Center is still encouraging all visitors to wear a mask to help protect others.

This program will involve volunteer weeding at the park! \nPLEASE NOTE: \n\nRegistration is recommended for all participants to secure your space in the program. Please reserve one ticket per individual.\nIf you are more than 10 minutes late your ticket may be released to walk up participants.\nIf the program is sold out\, but you still wish to attend\, we encourage you to walk up and see if space is available.\nIn the case of inclement weather\, the program may be rescheduled or canceled.
