DESCRIPTION:This workshop is an introduction to Sashiko\, a traditional Japanese embroidery technique. Sashiko stitching is a beautiful way to mend clothes and create custom designed textiles. Sashiko (“little stabs”) embroidery is easy to master and can be very meditative. Each participant will choose a simple pattern and complete their own piece of Sashiko embroidery that can be turned into a patch for mending clothes or a coaster. \nGive your clothes a new life while you turn them into pieces of art in this free workshop taught by Althea Gaskin Feurich. Beginning needleworkers welcome.
