SUMMARY:Craft Nights (Domino Park)
DESCRIPTION:Get creative in community with our guided art-making workshops. \n\n\n\n\nJoin us for Craft Nights\, happening twice a month on the 2nd and last Monday – a creative space to unwind\, explore\, and make something with your hands. \nWe’ll alternate between two partners: Nelise Bey’s natural dye workshops\, where you can experiment with indigo and other plant-based colors\, and Kimberly Lewis’s guided artmaking sessions. Kimberly’s approach invites you to reconnect with yourself through creating\, offering hands-on projects that encourage experimentation\, storytelling\, and letting go of perfection. \n. \nTHE SCHEDULE\nMONDAY\, JUNE 15: Natural Dye with Nelise Bey \nMONDAY\, JUNE 29: Sun Prints with Kimberly Lewis. Create one-of-a-kind prints using sunlight\, shadows\, and real natural materials collected from the park. Leaves\, flowers\, and found textures are arranged on light-sensitive paper to reveal soft silhouettes shaped by the sun. \nMONDAY\, JULY 13: Natural Dye with Nelise Bey \nMONDAY\, JULY 27: Summer Window Catcher with Kimberly Lewis. Create a glowing window hanging using recycled materials\, tissue paper\, and other translucent materials. Layer color and texture in response to the summer sunlight\, sky\, and the shifting moods of summer. Each participant will walk away with a personal light and color collage. \nMONDAY\, AUGUST 10: Felt Park Pendants with Kimberly Lewis. A one-night summer camp–style making experience at Domino Park. Personalize your own felt pendant using felt shapes\, letter stickers\, glue\, and simple stitch details to build a small wearable or hangable keepsake. \nMONDAY\, AUGUST 24: Natural Dye with Nelise Bey \nMONDAY\, SEPTEMBER 14: Natural Dye with Nelise Bey \nMONDAY\, SEPTEMBER 28: River Ink Flow Prints with Kimberly Lewis. Explore the movement of color through fluid ink painting inspired by the East River. No painting experience is required\, participants will tilt\, blow\, and layer inks\, allowing water and pigment to move like natural currents. \n. \nABOUT OUR PARTNERS\nNELISE BEY: Nelise is a textile artist\, natural dyer\, and printmaker living and creating in Brooklyn\, NY. Her aesthetic is colorful and pattern-filled\, a play on her Caribbean roots. Nelise works mostly with silks and other natural fibers\, dyeing and silkscreening them. Her work is tied to the earth\, and inspiration often calls when she’s outdoors hiking or foraging in Brooklyn and New York State. \nKIMBERLY LEWIS: Kimberly Lewis is a Brooklyn-based artist\, designer\, and creative disruptor who believes perfection is boring and mess is magic. Molded by her creative studies at Pratt and FIT\, she has spent 20+ years bending the edges of what creativity should look like\, guiding both adults and kids to unlearn\, reimagine\, and express themselves freely through art\, story\, and beautiful chaos.

SUMMARY:NBPA's Garden Club
DESCRIPTION: #HEYNBK Want to get your hands in the dirt? \nJoin the Garden Club this season!  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nNorth Brooklyn Parks Alliance is excited to offer three volunteer opportunities each month in these distinct parks: \n– Bushwick Inlet Park (50 Kent Ave between 11th and 12th St): a waterfront park defined by its Manhattan views and abundance of flowering pollinator plants. \n– Under the K Bridge Park (Meeker Ave and Van Dam Street): a unique 7-acre park under the BQE\, where you’ll tend to the native plant nursery\, our ecological lab for cultivating biodiversity amongst heavy industry. \n– McGolrick Park (Nassau Ave between Russell and Monitor Streets): an Olmsted-era neighborhood park with a stunning mature tree canopy. \nYou’ll work with our horticultural experts to learn about the ecological needs of each space: weeding invasive plant species\, propagating and transplanting native plants\, amending soil\, and caring for trees. \nEvents are free\, but please consider making a small donation or join our sustaining membership drive and help us build a green fund for North Brooklyn! \n\n\n\n\n. \n2026 Current & Future Months  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSunday\, 7/12/2026\, 10 AM ~ Bushwick Inlet Park (50 Kent)\nSunday\, 7/19/2026\, 10 AM ~ Under the K Bridge Park\nSunday\, 7/26/2026\, 10 AM ~ Under the K Bridge Park \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n. \n\n\n2026 Past Months \n\n\nSunday\, 4/19/2026\, 10 AM ~ Under the K Bridge Park\nSaturday\, 4/25/2026\, 10 AM ~ Bushwick Inlet Park (50 Kent)\nSunday\, 4/26/2026\, 10 AM ~ McGolrick Park \n. \n\n\n\nSunday\, 5/10/2026\, 10 AM ~ Bushwick Inlet Park (50 Kent)\nSaturday\, 5/17/2026\, 10 AM ~ Under the K Bridge Park\nSunday\, 5/24/2026\, 10 AM ~ McGolrick Park \n. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSunday\, 6/14/2026\, 10 AM ~ Bushwick Inlet Park (50 Kent)\nSunday\, 6/21/2026\, 10 AM ~ Under the K Bridge Park\nSunday\, 6/28/2026\, 10 AM ~ McGolrick Park
