This is a part of Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Waterfront Workouts series\, offering free weekly workouts from May through September. \nDesigned to diversify your workout\, this bootcamp-style high intensity interval training (HIIT) class will incinerate calories and build strength. Come give your all at Brooklyn Bridge Park in this all-level cardio\, strength\, and plyometric-based workout\, with a stunning waterfront view. \nNo equipment is required but participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats or towels\, if desired\, to use on the turf. \nAdvance registration is highly encouraged but walk-ups welcome as capacity allows. DESCRIPTION:Join us to learn the fascinating story of the Roebling family and the engineering behind it. Immerse yourself in the history of the bridge that transformed the New York landscape forever. \nThis program meets at and first hour will take place Pier 1 Granite Prospect’s rock steps\, before walking up to the first tower of the Brooklyn Bridge. \n  \nAccessibility: The guided walk onto the bridge includes an uphill\, ~ 7 block (around 4\,595 ft) journey to the tower of the bridge. There is a small staircase to access the bridge and once on you can expect there to be no shade\, and a slight uphill incline on concrete and wooden flooring. SUMMARY:Youth Basketball Clinics (Brooklyn Bridge Park)
DESCRIPTION:Kids aged 4-17 can join Brooklyn Bridge Park for free basketball clinics led by KING Hoops\, NYC’s premier youth basketball organization. Participants can learn basketball basics as head coaches lead participants through drills and games. Free clinics are held on Saturday mornings from June through August (excluding holiday weekends). \nThe first hour\, 9-10am\, will be for beginner players who are brand new to the sport. Here we will teach the very basic fundamentals of the game\, the rules of the game\, and getting acclimated to having a ball in each player’s hands. \nThe second hour\, 10-11am\, will be for advanced beginners to intermediate players who have played a little bit more basketball experience. Emphasis will be on ball handling\, passing\, shooting form\, defense\, and learning to love the game. \nRegistration is free and sign-up is by-the-week; advance registration encouraged but walk-ups accomodated as space allows. DESCRIPTION:Start your day with a free relaxing and strengthening yoga session in Brooklyn Bridge Park! This all-level one hour fitness class is open to all ages and abilities\, led by instructors from Abhaya Yoga. This is a part of Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Waterfront Workouts series\, offering free weekly workouts from May through September. This yoga class integrates postures\, breathing exercises\, relaxation and meditation to stretch\, strengthen and condition. No equipment is required but participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats or towels\, if desired\, to use on the lawn. Advance registration is highly encouraged but walk-ups welcome as capacity allows. Fitness waivers are required by all participants.
