SUMMARY:Dime McCarren 5K Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Dime McCarren 5K\, originally launched in Greenpoint/Williamsburg by St. Nicks Alliance in 2012 as a 5K run/walk to engage the community and raise money for local youth education. It swiftly captured the feet and hearts of local runners and walkers including powerhouse running club\, North Brooklyn Runners (NBR). Feet dig into this rousing route that takes them to the water’s edge and through new and old neighborhood charms. The heart part is there is no healthier way to support a great local cause: the registration fee supports St. Nicks Alliance’s very cool transformational and impactful services to low-income seniors\, youth\, and adults in N Brooklyn!

DESCRIPTION:Join the Greenpoint Library for a sewing and fiber arts get together on the second Tuesday of each month. \nFor those with experience\, the library has sewing machines available – sign up for a sewing machine by emailing Molloy Rogers. If you own a sewing machine\, feel free to bring it with you to the library. It is suggested that you have some experience and bring a project to work on\, although skill sharing is encouraged! The library has sewing and cutting tools to share. \nIf sewing is not your specialty\, you may still join and work on a fiber arts craft project of your choice…there will be embroidery! \nThe art circle is capped at 15 people\, so please only register if you know you will be able to attend. Hopalong Andrew is an American Western and Folk music singer and humorist who revisions classic cowboy and folk songs to playfully reflect city life for urban cowpokes.\n\n  \n\nTuesday\, June 18: Silly Jazz and Camille. Come dance along to “silly jazz” with comedian and jazz singer\, Camille Harris. Popular songs include: “The Monster Under My Bed\,” “Muffin Man\,” and “Chopsticks.”\n\n  \n\nTuesday\, June 25: Moozika. Moozika! is singer-songwriter Jesse Goldman’s award-winning bilingual family music band and educational program based in Brooklyn. Named one of the top three “Absolute Best” kids’ music classes in NYC by New York Magazine\, Moozika!’s playful Spanish – English tunes are powered by an ethos of big love and gentleness. They encourage the audience to get up and moving with a high energy show that will rock your guac off!\n\n  \nThis program will have registration that will open 24 hours before each program begins. In the case of inclement weather\, the program will be moved to our auditorium and only those registered will be admitted entry. * This restriction is due to the fire safety limit set by the fire marshal and is non-negotiable. \n\n\nJack & Friends is presented in celebration of Jack Roberts and his joyful spirit.
