This is a family friendly event\, kindly keep in mind that we use our green roofs as an educational resource\, we prefer that furry friends stay at home. NCA staff will be on hand to answer questions about the space\, the ecological benefits of green roofs\, and talk about our current activities around Newtown Creek! \nThe event is free and open to all. The main green roofs can be accessed via elevator\, however the nursery area is not ADA accessible (small staircase). \nCheck out the various native plants that we have been growing on site; purchases can also be made online in advance!

We welcome individuals and families but children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their stay. Check out what’s happening during Farmhouse Family Day while you’re here!\nDress for the mess! The garden group enjoys growing a multitude of culturally-appropriate crops\, hosting community events\, and sharing delicious meals with one another. \nPlease join Euclid 500 Community Garden\, NYC Parks GreenThumb\, and Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Brooklyn Urban Gardeners (BUG) program for a hands-on volunteer day! Fall is a great time to harvest veggies\, prepare raised beds for winter\, remove weeds\, and build new trellises. This is a great opportunity to learn how to join a community garden while supporting an essential community space. Beginners are welcome! No prior experience necessary. Please wear comfortable\, weather-appropriate clothing and bring water and snacks.
