Books with missing covers or missing pages will not be accepted.\n– 15 book limit per participant. \nHow to Participate\n1. Drop off your pre-owned books with the front desk staff at WORD Bookstore starting Monday\, September 9th.\n2. For every book you bring in\, you will receive one bottle cap.\n3. Each bottle cap can be exchanged for one book at the swap. \nThe Bench Glow Up\nAfter the swap we invite all participants to help beautify the bench out in front of WORD by sketching favorite book characters or writing beloved book quotes.\nWe’ll provide sketch pencils and colorful paint markers.

DESCRIPTION:Meet 7:30 am at the “Pergola” entrance on Ocean and Parkside Avenues. Walks are led by Dennis Hrehowsik.  Walks typically go into early afternoon or later if the birding is great.  Bring water\, snacks and/or a sandwich if you plan to stay the whole duration–but feel free to leave whenever you want. No registration necessary; however\, if more than 20 people show up we will split the group.

DESCRIPTION:Green Team takes place twice a month\, April-October.   \nGreen Team volunteers support essential horticultural care in Brooklyn Bridge Park\, completing tasks such as weeding\, planting and mulching. This is a great opportunity to learn about gardening\, enjoy nature\, and make a tangible difference in the Park with a group of other volunteers. \nVolunteers of all ages are welcome (under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) and no volunteer orientation is required. No gardening experience is necessary; we provide all the instructions and tools needed for a rewarding experience! \nAdvance registration is required.
