DESCRIPTION:Join Prospect Park Alliance for a free tour of the park to learn about the Battle of Brooklyn\, the first and largest battle of the American War for Independence\, on its 250th Anniversary. This one-hour tour begins and ends at Lefferts Historic House\, and takes visitors to the park’s Battle Pass to see the replica fortifications  where on August 27\, 1776\, thousands of Pennsylvania and New England soldiers fought their British and Hessian counterparts. Along the way\, attendees will learn about the battle and its aftermath from the perspective of the Africans enslaved by the Lefferts family\, soldiers who fought in what is now Prospect Park\, and the overall impact of the conflict on Flatbush and Brooklyn. Please note this tour leaves promptly at 2 pm. \nAlso enjoy our exhibit about the important and varied roles Black people played in the Battle of Brooklyn\, on view in the Lefferts yard. \nLearn More + RSVP. \n. \nDates: daily through September 6\, 2026\n\nCANCELLED! Always with an obsessive focus on “proud posture”. Please bring a mat for class. \nHelen Phelan Studio: Helen Phelan Studio’s signature bodyweight mat Pilates class is equal parts rigor and restoration. Participants will leave class feeling grounded\, energized and with muscles feeling a little bit like a wet noodle. No equipment necessary\, though participants are welcome to bring ankle or wrist weights for extra intensity! Please bring a mat. \nGood Move: Good Move is a dance and mindful fitness studio for all movers. Good Move Signature Class gives the body and soul a boost with a seamless integration of HIIT intervals\, dance cardio\, core conditioning\, expressive movement and stretch. No dance experience necessary! Mats encouraged for the stretch portion of class. \nFNT Boxing Club: FNT Boxing Club is a fitness and traditional boxing gym located in the heart of Williamsburg\, Brooklyn. Classes combine technical boxing instruction with high-intensity interval training (HIIT).

DESCRIPTION:Green Team takes place twice a month.   \nGreen Team volunteers support essential horticultural care in Brooklyn Bridge Park\, completing tasks such as weeding\, planting and mulching. This is a great opportunity to learn about gardening\, enjoy nature\, and make a tangible difference in the Park with a group of other volunteers. \nVolunteers of all ages are welcome (under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) and no volunteer orientation is required. No gardening experience is necessary; we provide all the instructions and tools needed for a rewarding experience! \nAdvance registration is required and spaces are limited. Registration opens the month prior. SUMMARY:Marine Park Forest Restoration
DESCRIPTION:Volunteer with the Stewardship team to protect the forested areas in Marine Park! Volunteers will contribute to ongoing restoration work and learn the importance of species diversity to ecosystem health. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes\, long sleeves\, long pants\, and clothing that can get dirty. Face masks may be worn at your discretion. Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. This event has been funded in part by NYC Service. DESCRIPTION:Join Jes Good Rewards Children’s Garden and NYC Parks GreenThumb for an Open House and hands-on volunteer day cleaning up the garden! \nSimply relax in the garden or get hands-on with gardening tasks like collecting debris\, removing weeds\, and reorganizing garden furniture. This is a great opportunity for new and experienced gardeners looking to get involved in community gardening. \nWe’ll provide all the tools\, training\, and guidance to ensure a productive and safe volunteer day! Please wear sturdy work shoes and weather-appropriate clothing and bring water and snacks. Note some tasks will involve lifting heavy materials and extended periods of bending\, squatting\, and moving. \nIn the event of inclement weather\, we’ll reschedule this event to Sunday\, September 13th. \nFor information about group volunteering\, please contact the GreenThumb Volunteer Program at gt.volunteer@parks.nyc.gov. \nThis event is co-hosted by NYC Parks GreenThumb. DESCRIPTION:Glide along the water this summer and fall in our protected embayment with free public kayaking! \nPresented in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse\, free kayaking is offered throughout the summer on Wednesday and Thursday evenings\, Saturdays\, and Sunday afternoons. All levels are welcome including first-time kayakers — life vests and all equipment provided\, as well as instruction. Children under 18 must have an adult guardian present.
