DESCRIPTION:These outings will start at The Audubon Center at the Boathouse. \nLeader: A member of the Brooklyn Bird Club \nWhether you’re just starting out or have already joined the birding ranks\, this introductory bird outing is for you. Join a member of the Brooklyn Bird Club to learn the basics of birding and search for the dozens of species that visit Prospect Park through all seasons. \nAll levels and ages are welcome. No registration necessary. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. \nPlease bring binoculars if you have them. A limited number of binoculars will be available to loan. \nRoute Description: This outing is at a leisurely pace with lots of stops to observe birds. A different route through the park may be taken each week. There may be steps\, slight inclines\, and grass and dirt paths with exposed roots. We will cover approximately 1.5-2 miles.

DESCRIPTION:These outings will start at The Audubon Center at the Boathouse. \nLeader: A member of the Brooklyn Bird Club \nWhether you’re just starting out or have already joined the birding ranks\, this introductory bird outing is for you. Join a member of the Brooklyn Bird Club to learn the basics of birding and search for the dozens of species that visit Prospect Park through all seasons. \nAll levels and ages are welcome. No registration necessary. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. \nPlease bring binoculars if you have them. A limited number of binoculars will be available to loan. \nRoute Description: This outing is at a leisurely pace with lots of stops to observe birds. A different route through the park may be taken each week. There may be steps\, slight inclines\, and grass and dirt paths with exposed roots. We will cover approximately 1.5-2 miles.

Experience Indigenous music\, dance\, food and crafts on the ancestral homelands of the Lenape peoples. \nHosting an Art and Craft fair in Prospect Park offers Lenape and other Indigenous artists and artisans from across the region an opportunity to share their cultures with Brooklynites of all backgrounds today. The Red Blanket Singers will perform songs\, dances\, and drumming at 1 pm and 3 pm each day. Enjoy corn husk making workshops\, Indigenous food vendors including the award-winning Sly Fox Den and over a dozen Indigenous art and crafts vendors. \nThis event is funded in part through the American Indian Community House and the Speaker’s Initiative of New York City Council Speaker Adrienne E. St. Nicholas will tell the traditional tale of The Bakers Dozen and children are invited to sign the Red Book.
