No registration is required. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. \n. \nWhat to Bring:\nBinoculars if you have them\, comfortable walking shoes\, water\, and weather-appropriate clothing. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow. \nPlease Note:\nPets are not permitted on this outing. Depending on attendance\, participants may be divided into smaller groups. Outings are held rain or shine unless severe weather makes conditions unsafe. \nRoute Description:\nThis outing moves at a relaxed pace with frequent stops to observe birds. DESCRIPTION:September 2026 to May 2027 \nMeeting Location: Audubon Center at the Boathouse\nLeader: A member of the Brooklyn Bird Club \nWhether you’re new to birding or looking to build your skills\, this introductory outing is a great way to explore Prospect Park and learn about the birds that visit throughout the year. Join a member of the Brooklyn Bird Club to learn birding basics and search for the dozens of species found in the park across all seasons. \nAll ages and experience levels are welcome. No registration is required. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. \n. \nWhat to Bring:\nBinoculars if you have them\, comfortable walking shoes\, water\, and weather-appropriate clothing. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow. \nPlease Note:\nPets are not permitted on this outing. Depending on attendance\, participants may be divided into smaller groups. Outings are held rain or shine unless severe weather makes conditions unsafe. \nRoute Description:\nThis outing moves at a relaxed pace with frequent stops to observe birds. Routes may vary from week to week depending on bird activity and park conditions. Participants can expect paved paths\, dirt trails\, grassy areas\, slight inclines\, and occasional steps. The group will cover approximately 1.5–2 miles.

DESCRIPTION:Make Music New York is New York City’s only music festival for the people and by the people! \nMake Music New York is a unique festival of free concerts in public spaces throughout the five boroughs of New York City. All of the performances take place annually on June 21st\, the first day of summer and longest day of the year. Completely different from a typical music festival\, Make Music New York is open to anyone who wants to take part. From ten in the morning to ten at night\, every kind of musician — young and old\, amateur and professional\, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets\, sidewalks\, parks and plazas to share their music with friends\, neighbors\, and strangers. \nThousands of amateur musicians take the opportunity to play in public spaces\, often for the biggest crowds of their lives. Professional musicians perform for new audiences\, who come out from under their headphones to hear unfamiliar groups risk-free. And everyone is invited to sing or play along and enjoy the first day of summer in a spirit of celebration. With over 1\,000 concerts each year\, Make Music New York includes a number of signature projects: “Mass Appeal Concerts\,” in which dozens of musicians band together to perform massive pieces written for a specific type of instrument; “Punk Island”; “Porch Stomp” folk festival; “Street Studios\,” and many more.

DESCRIPTION:Make Music New York is New York City’s only music festival for the people and by the people! \nMake Music New York is a unique festival of free concerts in public spaces throughout the five boroughs of New York City. All of the performances take place annually on June 21st\, the first day of summer and longest day of the year. Completely different from a typical music festival\, Make Music New York is open to anyone who wants to take part. From ten in the morning to ten at night\, every kind of musician — young and old\, amateur and professional\, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets\, sidewalks\, parks and plazas to share their music with friends\, neighbors\, and strangers. \nThousands of amateur musicians take the opportunity to play in public spaces\, often for the biggest crowds of their lives. Professional musicians perform for new audiences\, who come out from under their headphones to hear unfamiliar groups risk-free. And everyone is invited to sing or play along and enjoy the first day of summer in a spirit of celebration. With over 1\,000 concerts each year\, Make Music New York includes a number of signature projects: “Mass Appeal Concerts\,” in which dozens of musicians band together to perform massive pieces written for a specific type of instrument; “Punk Island”; “Porch Stomp” folk festival; “Street Studios\,” and many more.
