All levels are welcome including first-time kayakers – life vests and all equipment provided\, as well as instruction. Children under 18 must have an adult guardian present. \n  \nWednesdays\, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM \nThursdays\, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM \nSaturdays\, 10:00 AM-3:00 PM \nSundays\, 12:00 PM-2:30 PM (family kayaking) \n  \nAdvanced registration required\, providing 20 minute timed slots. DESCRIPTION:Ages:  5-10 \nLet’s learn about our Moon! In this program we will be discussing Earth’s Moon phases and how it affects our planet. Children will be able to apply their knowledge by creating a Moon phase model out of paper. \nMaterials Provided: Paper\, glue\, scissors \n  \nAccessibility \n\nWe are a 5-minute walk off the Nassau G stop. Our building entry\, elevator\, and bathroom are all ADA compliant.\nFor this workshop we will be in Eco Lab 1\, this room is brightly lit from a variety of fixtures and natural lighting.  Temperature varies.\nBeing a public space there is often overlapping noise within the building.  This workshop is geared towards kids which might include varying levels of sound depending on excitement or interest of group.  To reduce sensory input feel free to bring your own ear plugs or ask us if you’d like to borrow a sound filtering device.\nGrown-ups are encouraged to stay in the space to provide additional support to their child.  This may include help with motor skills or emotional support.

We’ll learn how to find objects and identify them in the night sky. \nThe Rooftop Garden is elevator accessible. \nMoon Phase:  Waning crescent 14.9%.  The Moon appears to be partly but less than one-half illuminated by direct sunlight. The fraction of the Moon’s disk that is illuminated is decreasing.

In partnership with the Conservancy\, join Clearwater for a celebration of the harvest time and a tribute to river communities that will be fun for the whole family. \nAs a part of Pumpkin Sail\, the sail itself will be pumpkin-themed and there are also accompanying free dockside activities including deck tours of the sloop\, pumpkin and gourd tic-tac-toe\, and\, for a $5 donation\, the opportunity to paint a mini pumpkin! \nInterested in taking part of their 4:00 PM sail? Learn more and get tickets here. (no tickets required to participate in the free dockside activities)
