DESCRIPTION:These outings will start at The Audubon Center at the Boathouse. \nLeader: A member of the Brooklyn Bird Club \nWhether you’re just starting out or have already joined the birding ranks\, this introductory bird outing is for you. Join a member of the Brooklyn Bird Club to learn the basics of birding and search for the dozens of species that visit Prospect Park through all seasons. \nAll levels and ages are welcome. No registration necessary. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. \nPlease bring binoculars if you have them. A limited number of binoculars will be available to loan. \nRoute Description: This outing is at a leisurely pace with lots of stops to observe birds. A different route through the park may be taken each week. There may be steps\, slight inclines\, and grass and dirt paths with exposed roots. We will cover approximately 1.5-2 miles.

DESCRIPTION:Climate Week NYC\, the biggest annual climate event of its kind\, is back on September 22 – 29. \nThe event takes place every year in partnership with the United Nations General Assembly and is run in coordination with the United Nations and the City of New York. It brings together inspiring heads of government\, climate leaders\, action takers\, and innovators from the world of business\, government\, politics\, tech\, academia\, and civil society. They’ll drive the transition forward and turn those who aren’t yet going fast enough into action takers. \nIt also creates a platform for some 600 events across New York City\, led by people and organizations that want push the needle on climate action. \nThat makes Climate Week NYC an event that drives climate action by those at the very top of business and politics\, but also by communities\, artists and activists\, bound together by this year’s battle cry of Climate Week NYC: It’s Time.  \nLearn more about the week and watch sessions on demand to get a feel for what’s in store.

DESCRIPTION:Browse NCA’s native plant nursery and enjoy the green roofs at Kingsland Wildflowers during this Autumn Evenings series! \n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nNewtown Creek Alliance would like to welcome the public to join us at Kingsland Wildflowers on select Fridays for our “Autumn Evening” event series — browse our native plant nursery for plants to take home\, or just come to enjoy sunset and a skyline view from the green roofs at Kingsland Wildflowers until 7 pm. \nVisit our Online Store to check our plant availibility and make purchases ahead of time\, or feel free to browse and buy plants on site. \nPlease note that we will not be open on Friday\, October 18th — we’ll be breaking down from our annual Tidal Toast (more info here)!
