World Migratory Bird Day

World Migratory Bird Day is a biannual global campaign celebrating bird migration and promoting international conservation, officially observed on the second Saturday of May and October.

This campaign started in 1993 as International Migratory Bird Day by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center. It is now globally coordinated by the Environment for the Americas alongside the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) and African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbird Agreement (AEWA).
