Join NYC H2O educator, Sophie Barno, and learn the full scope of The Gerritsen Creek salt marsh’s ecological benefits to the eastern seaboard and the humans who visit it. All levels welcome!
Marine Park is Brooklyn’s largest park. It contains over 270 bird species, 100 kinds of fish and 50 types of butterflies. Bordered by Jamaica Bay and fed by Gerritsen Creek, Marine Park’s saltmarsh provides a critical habitat for aquatic species and help stabilize the shoreline from storm surges and sea level rise.
