Volunteer Workdays at Brooklyn Community Gardens

9:00 a.m.1:00 p.m. Spring Garden Workday at Brooklyn’s Finest Garden at Brooklyn’s Finest Garden, Brooklyn. Volunteers will assist with planting seeds, cleaning up, and spreading earth matter.

10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Grapevine Pruning & Trellis Building Workday at Lincoln Road Garden, Brooklyn. Volunteers will help prune existing grapevines and build a supportive trellis system.

10:00 a.m.12:00 p.m. Shed Build Volunteer Day at People’s Garden, Brooklyn.  Volunteers will learn and practice carpentry skills by assisting gardeners with building a new shed.

10:00 a.m.3:00 p.m. Volunteer Workday at Moffat Street Community Garden at Moffat Street Community Garden, Brooklyn.  Volunteers will help the gardeners build raised beds utilized for growing food.

10:00 a.m.5:00 p.m. Volunteer Workday at Upon This Rock Community Garden at Upon This Rock Community Garden, Brooklyn.  Volunteer will participate in a variety of garden tasks such as cleaning debris, weeding, tool organization, and spreading earth matter.

10:00 a.m.2:00 p.m. Volunteer Workday: Clifton Place Memorial Garden & Park at Clifton Place Memorial Garden, Brooklyn. Learn how to join a GreenThumb garden and engage in EarthMonth activities, such as building raised beds and planting a floral landscape.

10:30 a.m.1:30 p.m. Volunteer Garden Workday: Maple Street Community Garden at Maple Street Community Garden, Brooklyn. Volunteers will assist with building a compost sifting table, transplanting seed starts, and general clean-up. There will also be fun wood carving, crafting activities, and a food demo.

11:00 a.m.2:00 p.m. Garden Bed Building Volunteer Day at Her-King Alagantic Community Garden, Brooklyn. Join a volunteer workday to build metal garden beds.

11:00 a.m.2:00 p.m. Spring Seeds Day at Newkirk Community Garden at Newkirk Community Garden, Brooklyn. Join a volunteer workday to help with starting seeds ahead of the garden season! We may also participant in a general garden clean up and tool shed organization.

11:00 a.m.2:00 p.m. Volunteer Garden Workday at Ashford Learning Garden at Ashford Learning Garden, Brooklyn. Join a volunteer workday to help get the garden ready for spring! Volunteers will help prepare garden beds, prune and remove weeds, and plant seeds.

11:30 a.m.1:30 p.m. Shed and Tool Cleaning at The Amazing Garden, Brooklyn. Join a collaborative event of organizing, cleaning, and maintaining the garden shed and tools!

12:00 p.m.3:00 p.m. Sowing Seeds of Beauty at Amboy Street Community Garden at Amboy Street Garden, Brooklyn. Volunteers will help the gardeners start seeds, clean up, and organize the tool shed.

12:00 p.m.2:00 p.m. Volunteer Garden Workday at New Madison Harvest Garden at New Madison Harvest Community Garden, Brooklyn. Come help prepare the garden for another productive growing season! Seasonal tasks include a general clean up, organizing tools, starting seeds, and more!

1:00 p.m.3:30 p.m. Seeding a Vibrant Afro-Indigenous Garden at East New York Farms, Brooklyn. Gather with us in the garden for seed starting and transplanting alongside stories of Afro-Indigenous crops! During our time together, we’ll connect and ground ourselves with various seeds relevant to African and Indigenous diasporas.
