GreenThumb community gardens are developed, led, and cared for by dedicated volunteers who critically upkeep community gardens as public green spaces.
Commitment Garden is a spacious, food-producing community garden in East New York, Brooklyn. Previously two separate spaces—Triple R Garden (Rest, Reflection, Relaxation) and New Vision Garden—the groups have now merged after removing the shared fence. They’re excited to welcome new members as they begin this new chapter together!
On this volunteer day, participants will help plant a garden border with native flowers and shrubs! Gloves and tools will be provided. Please bring water, snacks, and clothes and shoes/boots that you don’t mind getting dirty. Note that this activity is outdoors and will involve bending, kneeling, and lifting heavy materials.
Groups should contact the volunteer coordinator at [email protected] before signing up.
