GreenThumb community gardens are developed, led, and cared for by dedicated volunteer gardeners who critically upkeep them as public green spaces.
Pirate’s Cove Garden in Red Hook, Brooklyn is stewarded by dedicated gardeners who are excited to bring in new members into the garden! The gardeners aim to foster deep community connections through growing food and plants together.
Pirate’s Cove Garden is partnering with GreenThumb to redesign areas of the garden to make way for more growing spaces and building new raised garden beds. We’re seeking volunteers who want to lend a hand and learn basic carpentry and garden design skills. This is a great opportunity for those interested in joining a garden, but may not be sure where to start!
Gloves and tools will be provided. Bring water, snacks, and clothes and shoes/boots you don’t mind getting dirty.
