Verdi the python is very proud of his beautiful bright yellow skin and the bold black stripes that zigzag down his back. But as his mother sends him off into the steamy jungle of his island home, she says, “Grow up big and green.” Verdi thinks the old green pythons that laze around in the treetops are boring. He’s sure that if he can keep jumping and climbing and moving fast, he’ll stay yellow and striped forever. Will Verdi’s tricks really keep him young . or is he heading for a heap of trouble?
