Event Series Event Series: Tree Guard Installation Training

Tree Guard Installation Training

Saturday, June 21st at 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Tree guards are a great way to protect our street trees from soil compaction, pet waste, and other physical damage.

Join us for a few hours to help install several tree guards and protect District 33 trees. We will divide into teams to install each guard and experienced staff will provide hands on instruction and support while volunteers get to work. After each guard is installed we will spruce up the tree bed with fresh compost and mulch. All tools and supplies provided. Please wear comfortable clothes appropriate for the weather and close toed shoes.

You will learn some new skills and get the training you need to install one on your block next!

Join us on Saturday, May 31 from 2pm-5pm in Greenpoint or Saturday, June 21 from 10am-1pm  in Brooklyn Heights. Register now! If you are interested in purchasing a tree guard to protect a tree on your block, learn more at: bigreuse.org/treeguards
