Come join Flatbush Library and staff from The Big Reuse to help us to clean, care for, and add finished compost to the tree beds in front of the library. This is a family-friendly event open to all ages.
The London Plane tree and American Elm tree in front of our branch have shaded our library for decades. Together, these trees help absorb over 22,000 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year. Come learn about these trees and how we can nurture and protect our street trees across the city.
Curious about the street trees on your block? Check out https://tree-map.nycgovparks.org/tree-map/ to find out more about the trees you see every day.
