Join the Greenbelt Native Plant Center’s Seed Increase Program (SIP) to help plant new seed plots at our Floyd Bennett Field native seed farm. The SIP grows native seed, sourced from local plant populations, for ecological restoration projects across the city. Activities may include spreading seed, prepping planting beds, weeding beachgrass, and cutting back last year’s growth. Tools will be provided. No prior knowledge about native plants or farming is required. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes, long pants, and clothing that can get dirty. Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
