Come join Sophie Barno to learn about the importance of Northeastern tidal marshes. Practice identification of the flora and fauna with a focus on coastal birds and learn about conservation of this threatened habitat. All levels welcome!
Marine Park is Brooklyn’s largest park. It contains over 270 bird species, 100 kinds of fish and 50 types of butterflies. Bordered by Jamaica Bay and fed by Gerritsen Creek, Marine Park’s saltmarsh provides a critical habitat for aquatic species and help stabilize the shoreline from storm surges and sea level rise.
