Join Friends of Bushwick Inlet Park for a cleanup and invasive species removal at Bushwick Inlet Park from 10 AM to 1 PM for the 14th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep. This is a rain or shine event.
Volunteers will meet at Bushwick Inlet Park, 86 Kent Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11249, between the soccer field and the East River. There is street parking but it is easier to arrive by bike, public transit or ferry! Leave ample time to find street parking as it can be competitive.
Each year on the first Saturday in May, more than 2,500 volunteers come together across hundreds of miles of shoreline in New York City and the Hudson Valley for a day of service for the Hudson River. Volunteers clean up tons of trash, plant trees, and remove invasive plant species. Come out and clean your local shoreline in Saratoga County during this annual day of service for the Hudson! Read more about the project and our locations across the Hudson Valley and NYC by visiting Riverkeeper.org/sweep
Over 13 years, Sweep volunteers have completed 1,199 projects and removed 355 tons of debris, including 2,089 tires, and planted or maintained thousands of trees and shrubs. Once-neglected areas have gained year-round stewards, and rivers and creeks are better for it. Volunteers must register in advance. Have fun and help take care of the river!
