About this event

Please join students and their teachers from 8 NYC public middle and high schools as they showcase their learning and projects on climate change, climate justice and resilience in the Coney Island community as part of the Resilient Schools Consortium (RiSC) program.

Exhibit tables will be located in Kaiser Park, 2529 Neptune Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11224 (by the BBQ North area).

Activities will include remarks from special guests, a shoreline bird walk hosted by the American Littoral Society, a Kaiser Park scavenger hunt, a beanbag toss, a Postcards from the Future booth, and photographic displays.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own refreshments.

The Resilient Schools Consortium (RiSC) program is managed by the National Wildlife Federation in New York City. Students from the following NYC Department of Education Schools will be exhibiting their work: IS 228, IS 288, IS 303, Rachel Carson High School, Abraham Lincoln High School, John Dewey High School, the High School for Climate Justice, Theater Arts Production Company School, Liberation Diploma Plus High School) and Wildwood High School in New Jersey.

Program partners include the NYC Department of Education, Coney Island Beautification Project, American Littoral Society, New York Sea Grant, NYC Parks, Science and Resilience Institute at Jamaica Bay, Kid Power Academy, New Jersey Audubon, Knology, and local Coney Island residents.
