Dear Brooklyn
Did you know that at current rates of production and dumping, in 2025 there will be one pound of plastic in the ocean for every 3 pounds of fish? And if nothing changes, there will be more plastic there than fish in 2050? Enough!
Really, it’s enough. We can end this problem. And NYC (and especially Brooklyn) is strategically important to doing so. This is both because of its political representation, and because of its sensitive location at the intersection of waterways, ocean, and critical wetlands. YOU ARE IMPORTANT!
Please join us for the kickoff of Beyond Plastics, Brooklyn, and become a part of the work that inspiring activists, environmentalists, and a number of your neighbors have set in motion.
First, attend the zoom lecture, “Plastics 101: Everything You Were Afraid to Know About Plastic… And How to Change It” on Thursday, March 9 from 7-8:30pm. (Register here)
Then, meet up in person at the Old Stone House on Saturday, March 18 at 11:30 am. We will fix this problem. Bring your friends, bring your friends’ friends, and forward this announcement to anyone you know who might want to attend.
